The Importance of Visiting …
Visiting the schools you are considering can be very illuminating! We have four Visit Days so that students have multiple opportunities to visit, see the school, attend classes and also meet other admitted students. Feedback from our early visit days really demonstrates the benefits of a campus visit:
“I just wanted to send you a quick thank you for making the visit day on Monday so great. Honestly, I came to Syracuse hoping to not like it at all, and make my decision process that much easier. Instead, I fell in love with the Maxwell community. My sincerest thanks to you, and all the current students who took the time to speak with us and share your experiences. Hearing from you all and witnessing the wonderful community was so helpful, and I’m excited to say I will be mailing my deposit tomorrow!”
“Thank you for hosting me on Monday! I think that I can speak for most of the students who were in attendance when I say that the day was exceptionally fun and informative. I had the pleasure of attending one of Dr. DeNever’s classes and was rapt from beginning to end.”
We also understand that a campus visit is not always feasible. Our worldwide Maxwell Alumni Network is at hand offering to speak with admitted students over Coffee throughout the world! These meetings can also provide a much needed glimpse into the culture and atmosphere of a school and program.
“I have had a coffee hour with a Maxwell MPA graduate, Mr. Seejeen Park in Seoul. Thanks to Seejeen, I could visualize the life at Maxwell as he was very keen to share his experience and answer various questions on the program and etc. I also could meet another candidate, as he also has contacted Seejeen for coffee hour. I was very glad and impressed to meet a person interested in human rights, especially on North Korean Defectors. I really appreciated and enjoyed the gathering and talking to them. As I see it, this will be the start of networking with great people.”
So, please do RSVP for one of our last two Visit Days if you are able, or schedule time to connect with an alumni over a Coffee Chat as you consider attending Maxwell!
