The MA in Public Diplomacy and Global Communications (PDGC) program offers a streamlined curriculum that takes advantages of synergies in the field of international affairs, public relations and communications, to create global-savvy communicators who understand diverse audiences at home and abroad, and who can build relationships and strengthen public understanding of critical public and international policy issues. 

Master of Arts in Public Diplomacy and Global Communications

As a public diplomacy and global communications student, you will be dually enrolled in two prestigious schools at Syracuse University (the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School) Each school provides access to world-class expertise in public diplomacy studies as well as career resources to help launch your post-graduate career.

The 18-month, 43 credit professionally focused graduate degree program includes a summer bootcamp (July – August) and two semesters in Syracuse (Fall and Spring); a summer abroad to gain international experience; and a final fall semester capstone seminar in Washington, D.C.  The Washington semester contains a professional practicum that helps direct students toward relevant employment upon completion of the degree.

PDGC students benefit from the vast Maxwell alumni network in our nation’s capitol and benefit from the resources available through the Maxwell in DC program, co-located with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) a premier global think tank in international affairs.
