ABOUT ICMA:
ICMA, the International City/County Management Association, advances professional local government worldwide. The organization’s mission is to create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management to build better communities.
ICMA identifies leading practices to address the needs of local governments and professionals serving communities globally. We provide services, research, publications, data and information, peer and results-oriented assistance, and training and professional development to thousands of city, town, and county leaders and other individuals and organizations throughout the world. The management decisions made by ICMA’s members affect millions of people living in thousands of communities, ranging in size from small towns to large metropolitan areas.
ABOUT OUR STUDENT CHAPTER:
The Maxwell School’s ICMA Student Chapter is an important partner in providing programming and information for students interested in pursuing careers in state and local government. Our chapter here at Maxwell was established in 2012 and has had increasing membership every year since then. Students attend the Annual ICMA Conference through the generous fundraising efforts of Maxwell Alumnus Wally Bobkiewicz, and host numerous panels and speakers on relevant topics, while also engaging in community events, such as the Mayor’s State of the City addresses and site visits.
This year’s Executive Board is already excited about forming relationships with other ICMA Student Chapters in the area and advancing the interests of the its student members through a variety of programs. It looks like it’s going to be another great year for our ICMA Students!
Congratulations Jace, Chloe, Jason, Michael, Ronald and Umar!
