Experience SU’s campus … Virtually

Hendricks Chapel

Hendricks Chapel

Syracuse University has a rather impressive campus virtual tour available on its main website for prospective students. The University is home to around 14,500 full time undergraduate students and 4,800 full time graduate students at any given time.  SU was founded in 1870 as a private, coeducational institution offering programs in the physical sciences and modern languages. The Maxwell School was founded in 1924 as home to the social sciences disciplines and the first professionally oriented Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in the United States.  There are some interesting SU Facts found here for you to review about our university.

But, if you are not able to travel to Syracuse and wonder what the campus looks like, you can take a virtual tour of the campus on-line. Points of interest for prospective graduate students for Maxwell’s PA and IR programs might include:  the Hall of Languages (the oldest building on campus, also designed by the architect who designed the Old Executive Office Building- OEOB – in Washington, DC – incidentally, my favorite building in the capitol!); Maxwell – Eggers (our home for PAIA); Dineen Hall – new home for SU College of Law and home to the Institute for National Security and Counter-terrorism; the Carrier Dome – home of the Orange!; Hendricks Chapel – the spiritual home of SU and where we hold our convocation ceremony each year; Bird Library; the Slutzker Center for International Service; Syracuse Stage; among others.  This tour provides a wonderful visual picture of our campus – and potentially your new home should you decide to apply and study with us! Enjoy!
