Just Married: Same-sex Couples, Monogamy & the Future of Marriage by Stephen Macedo (2015)

No Slippery Slopes: Same-Sex Couples, Monogamy & the Future of Marriage
Will same-sex marriage lead to more radical marriage reform? Should it?

Join us as we welcome back to campus, Stephen Macedo this Friday, March 3rd for the State of Democracy Lecture Series.  He will speak on topics covered in his book, Just Married: Same-Sex Couples, Monogamy & the Future or Marriage (Princeton University Press, 2015)

Some warn of a dramatically slippery slope from same-sex marriage toward legalizing polygamy and adult incest. and the dissolution of marriage as we know it, others embrace such changes.  Professor Stephen Macedo argues that both sides are wrong, the same principles of democratic justice that demand marriage equality for same sex couples also lend support to monogamous marriage.

Stephen Macedo is the Laurence S. Rockefellar Professor of Politics and the University Center for Human Values, Princeton University.

The State of Democracy Lecture will take place, Friday, March 3 at 4 – 5:30 pm in Maxwell Auditorium.

Respondents:
Thomas Keck, Michael O. Sawyer  Chair of Constitutional Law and Politics, and
Laurence Thomas, Professor of Philosophy.

No RSVP necessary. For those out of the area, this event will be available via livestream at:
