Public Diplomacy Symposium at Washington, DC campus

Public Diplomacy Program Symposium Oct 30th

Public Diplomacy Program Symposium Oct 30th

MASS MEDIA, PUBLIC OPINION, AND FOREIGN POLICY – TRENDING TOWARD TRUST OR DISTRUST?

Each year the Public Diplomacy students hold a symposium to address some of the large and emerging policy questions and concerns in the field. This year’s symposium will be held tomorrow in our Washington, DC location. The closing address will be given by Richard Stengel, US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.

The symposium runs throughout the day with several panels. This was an ambitious undertaking, but the students in our Public Diplomacy program have really organized a thought provoking event with speakers across a variety of fields. I’m just sorry I cannot be there with them to celebrate and take part in this wonderful educational opportunity. Well done!

What do we owe each other? Featuring Marvin Kalb, Anne Gearan, Linda Jewell and Jennifer (Jen) Psaki.

In propaganda we trust? Featuring Katherine Brown, Stefan Grobe, Yasmeen Alamiri, David Ensor and Ivica Puljic.

The Great Taffy Pull. Featuring Tara D. Sonenshine, Steven Kull, Dean (Newhouse) Joel Kaplan and Barbara Slavin.

All of our panelist’s bios and information on the symposium topics can be found at the links above.
