Robert J. Shiller, 2013 Nobel Laureate in Economics Sciences at Maxwell Thursday

We are pleased to welcome Robert J. Shiller to campus this week. Dr. Schiller will present the inaugural Paul Volcker Lecture in Behavioral Economics:  “Speculative Prices, Inflation, and Behavioral Economics”.  Schiller is the Sterling Professor of Economics at Yale University, a 2013 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, and author of “Irrational Exuberance”, 3rd Ed (Princeton University Press).   The lecture will take place at 4 pm on Thursday, March 19th in Maxwell Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

The Paul Volcker Lecture in Behavioral Economics is co-sponsored by our faculty member, Professor Len Burman who holds the Paul Volcker Chair in Behavioral Economics and the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.   He is also the founding and current Director of the Tax Policy Center at the Urban Institute/Brookings.  Professor Burman teaches a winter intercession course in Tax Policy and Politics at Maxwell’s Washington, DC home at CSIS each January for our MPA and MA IR students. He is also a frequent speaker and visitor to campus.
