New Faculty Spotlight: Lecy and Schnell add depth in the areas of finance and intl development

This week’s post were all about our growing PAIA teaching family.  Our final installment today highlights our incoming junior faculty.  The PAIA Department is happy to welcome two more new scholars to our ranks.  Mr. Jesse Lecy and Ms. Sabina Schnell will join us this fall as Assistant Professors in Public Administration and International Affairs.

Lecy’s research focuses on how resource constraints and accountability measures create incentive systems that influence nonprofit and NGO behavior and performance.  He will be teaching the core MPA course, Public Organizations and Management, as well as the elective courses, State and Local Government Finance and Urban Policy.  Jesse earned his PhD in Social Sciences from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in 2010.

Schnell’s research focuses on international management and governance, international development and transparency.  She will be teaching the core MA IR course in Research Design as well as the elective, Policy and Administration in Developing Countries.  Sabina will be a recent graduate from GW’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Administration. She has consulted on a variety of research projects with the World Bank and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation.
